We like to think of Yamikani as a home and not an institution. We aim to promote an environment that is dedicated to the physical, spiritual emotional and mental-well being of children.
The primary goal of Yamikani House is to provide a loving nurturing home, in which children develop to their fullest potential. Thus, becoming healthy, independent and contributing members of the community.
Yamikani House have had a successful few years with their chicken project at full capacity with over 40 laying hens in the house and 10 new chicks born to the village chickens that roam the garden. The farm project saw hundreds of kg’s of maize harvested through their land rental project that Kenyawi Kids set up for them last year.
Goats are the next project for Yamikani Orphanage in the coming year which they will carry out independently of funding from Kenyawi Kids as they move towards self sustainability by using money raised from the sale of surplus eggs and chickens.
