STEKA

It has been another busy year at STEKA. The number of children living at the home grows and grows as does the academic success of the children. Godknows and Hellen have proudly raised many graduates in journalism, film studies, community development, nursing and a huge range of vocational skills including hair dressers, welders and mechanics.
Kenyawi Kids are still the main donor to the home itself. We fund the food provisions which have quadroupled in recent years due to poor harvest and rising energy costs. This year, basic staples at STEKA for over 100 children is £12,000 so if you know any company looking for some fabulous CSR publicity please send them our way with a donation!
The water pump at STEKA blew this week and so we are working on funding the £1900 replacement cost and hope to be able to then focus more on food provision. We funded a huge irrigation system at the STEKA farm this year in the hope that Godknows and his team can maximise their agriculture in order to provide food for the STEKA children in a more sustainable way (tricky when the house was for 40 and we now have over 100 bellies to feed and children to educate!)
